University of Surrey
What I'm studying
Economics & Finance at undergraduate level. It comes down to how markets behave and how money moves through them. The course leans heavily on the quantitative side, from statistics through to working with real financial data.
Alongside the degree
University has not replaced work. It runs next to it. Waitrose shifts sit next to the Tinsley & Co work. The degree has to fit around both. The useful skill has been organising time so that none of that slips.
That means planning the week in advance and protecting study hours around shifts. It also means leaving enough space to finish what I start.
What it shows
The degree is teaching me the discipline of proper analysis. Testing an idea against the data before trusting it. Holding real responsibilities at the same time shows the other half. I can carry study and work without either one giving way.
